Designed for light, performance and connection to the outdoors, North Face reimagines a classic Ascot Vale Victorian through a contemporary, solar-efficient lens.

Our client’s passion for natural light and energy performance shaped every design decision. The original Victorian façade and front rooms have been carefully retained, preserving the home’s heritage character, while a striking rear extension introduces a new architectural language. The addition features a raked metal roof, full-height north-facing glazing, charcoal rendered walls and light timber-look cladding to balance warmth with contrast.

Internally, the home opens into a generous open-plan kitchen, living and dining zone with seamless flow to the outdoors—creating a light-filled heart of the home ideal for everyday living and entertaining. To the rear, a laneway-accessed studio and garage complete the transformation.

A thoughtful balance of heritage charm and modern performance—North Face is a home designed around efficiency and the client’s priorities.
